Weekly STEAM Classes at the Atal Tinkering Lab – ‘An Innovation Lab’

The ATAL Tinkering Lab awarded tothe school by the NITI Aayog, Govt. of India is the tinkering studio for the learners, where our innovators tinker with their ideas. All the innovative ideas that the school is known for stem from here.

Weekly STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Maths) classes are conducted here to provide opportunities to the learners to engage in design thinking; where they think of and create solutions to the problems, they see around them. The lab is well-equipped with a humanoid 3D printer, Do-it-Yourself kits, Virtual Reality kits, an ideation studio along with other essential instruments related to scientific research and innovation. These classes work towards transforming the imagination of the learners into real working models with an objective to foster curiosity, creativity and imagination in the young minds and inculcate skills such as design mindset, computational thinking, adaptive learning and physical computing.

A Science Park to Ignite a Scientific Temperament

A specially designed ‘School Science Park’ aims at igniting a scientific temper in the learners. This Park has not only been a great hands-on learning tool but adds to the ambience of the campus also.

A Big Question

In order to stimulate divergent thinking and learning, every class begins with a big question. These big questions are aligned to the course content.

To Fast Learner Corner – to Give Higher Order Thinking Challenge

Every class has a well-designed Fast Learner Corner that offers an early bird- a higher order challenge through activity kits, games or storybooks to choose from. When a young learner finishes a given task early, he is given a higher challenge in order to keep him engaged and to stimulate his higher order thinking skills.

AQAD - A Thinking Question a Day

A Question a Day- is a scientifically designed skill-based Thinking question on subjects like English, Maths, SST and Science. It measures and promotes thinking in every dimension. One thinking question on any one of these subjects is displayed on a board outside the classroom every day. The learners from Grade III onwards enthusiastically participate in it. Every day an AQAD winner of the day from each grade is declared and decorated with a Smiley.

Student Led Conferences

To develop Higher Order Thinking Skills among the learners, Thinkology classes are conducted through the THOTs Lab for learners of class KG onwards. Student Led Conferences help learners demonstrate their superior thinking to their parents.

Wall Magazines- A Global Learning Platform

Learners get a podium to explore diverse countries and explore and elaborate the varied facets of those countries through another unique school programme- Wall Magazine. Each class adopts ONE country at the beginning of the session. There are four different Wall Magazines that are organized across the year. Based on their profound creative research learners try to bring out all the hues of the country they have adopted to the surface-. It’s also an extended Geography and GK class for the learners. This way, the bulletin boards of the School have become a global learning platform for the learners.
