25 Schools Become Crusaders for Better Air Quality in Ghaziabad

In the first event of its kind DLF Public School brought together 25 schools to pledge for clean air for Ghaziabad city. DLF Public School’s Compassionate Ghaziabad Initiative has created a partnership with the Lung Care Foundation: the launch of the first ever B.E.S.T. (Breathe Easy Stay Tough) Club in Ghaziabad is the outcome of this partnership. Through the B.E.S.T. clubs now in their schools, 200 student leaders and teacher mentors from these 25 proactive schools have pledged to work towards creating a tangible impact on Air Pollution in Ghaziabad city by influencing public attitude and engaging masses on air quality. These schools are aiming to together rewrite the story of Ghaziabad city from being one of the most polluted in the country to one where its school students engage in concrete practical actions to lead this fight against air pollution and ensure clean air for all its citizens. The clubs are an outcome of the Compassionate Ghaziabad Initiative led by DLF Public school in partnership with the global organisation Charter For Compassion and the Lung Care Foundation. Each of the schools will now work through a B.E.S.T. club which will be mentored and guided by the Lung Care Foundation, besides inputs from educators as mentors, doctors and local communities. Centenary Public School, Chander Nagar, Ghaziabad 13 Delhi Public School Ghaziabad International 14 K.D.B.Public School, Ghaziabad 15 Modern School, Sector 11, Noida 16 Uttam School for Girls 17 G.D. Goenka Public School, Rajnagar Extension Ghaziabad 18 Maharaja Agarsain Public School 19 Milton Academy Junior High school 20 S.G.Public school, Vasundhara 21 Everest Public School 22 Silver Line Prestige School 23 Vidya Bharati School ,Surya Nagar, Ghaziabad 24 Aspam Scottish School, Noida 25 Parevartan School, Rajnagar Extension Students participating in this virtual launch of best clubs received many insights about the basics of Air Pollution and its health impacts from Prof. (Dr.) Arvind Kumar and Mr. Rajiv Khurana, founder trustees of the Lung Care Foundation during the launch. Delfites' Research project ‘Stubble Burning – Lethal Cost to Cheaper Alternative’ findings were hugely appreciated during the webinar.
