Gen. V. K Singh Kicks Off DLF Public School Water Conservation Initiative

The students and staff of DLFPS scripted and enacted a moving musical play ‘Parched for Life…बिन पानी सब सून’ involving 550 performers at their Annual Day on Saturday at the school auditorium. Minister of State for External Affairs Retd. General V.K. Singh launched a year long campaign initiated by the school, involving parents as partners to bring the issue into the community’s collective conscience. The campaign WAIT…STOP…THINK! BEFORE THE DROP SHRINKS! would exhort all members of the school to sensitize the society by creating a community chain round this important issue and whip up concern and action. The Honourable Minister congratulated the students, staff and management of the school for its futuristic vision and reiterated the criticality of man taking urgent corrective steps for saving the environment. He said education was about going beyond reading and writing and was about developing character, selflessness and an outlook of helping others. Revealing the water conservation campaign leaflet circulated to the parents, he advocated expanding the movement to other elements of the community for action. The trail blazers and high achievers of the last session of Class XII and Class X, CBSE Board Examination along with Arpana Ray of Class X, Ghaziabad District Topper and the Third Highest Scorer – All over India were felicitated by the honourable minister for their stupendous success. The students who recently made it to premier institute IIT were also awarded. The auditorium witnessed a large gathering of about 1200 plus audience who echoed the soaring crescendo of applauds.
