DLF Public School represented India at 2019 edition of Surabaya Cross Cultural International Folk Art Festival (SCCIFAF) in Surabaya City, Indonesia. The festival is one of its kind presenting unique traditional folk arts at an international forum. The festival involved over 300 participants from 11 countries including India, Japan, Poland, Czech Republic, Timor Leste, Bulgaria, Uzbekistan, Russia, Mexico, Thailand, Italy and the host country Indonesia across 4 continents. The cultural troupes showcased their distinct unique folk art. The festival kicked off with a vibrant parade across the city. A historical city tour, an Art and Cultural Workshop, a Tree Planting Campaign, and a fish barbeque fiesta at the Kenjeran Beach Recreational Park were a part of the festival. A welcome dinner hosted by the Mayor Tri Rismaharini was the highlight of the trip. ‘The festival serves as an annual destination for artists, students and audiences to engage in activities and performances that foster a creative exchange of ideas, encourage exploration and aim at creating a more peaceful world through collective action inspired by dance’, shared participating teachers Ms. Patrali and Ms. Anshu.
