In continuation with the Intercultural Exchange Programmes with Russia since 2014, team DLF Public School set the 10th Wheel of Friendship to motion as they landed on the Russian soil, on a week long Teacher Exchange Programme. They visited traditional, modern and rural schools, in Moscow and Cheboksary. Principal Seema Jerath with a team of 6 teachers took Russia by storm as they refreshed and exchanged the camaraderie and synergy with their Russian counterparts. A seminar was conducted by Principal Seema Jerath on developing 21st century skills for teachers and trainee teachers. It was attended by more than 300 teachers from 90 institutions across the state. It was followed by an extensive meeting with Zakharov Dmitriy Anatolyevich, Head of City Education. Another conference was addressed at Chuvash State Teachers’ Training University. DLF Public School initiated a year long project on ‘Migrating Siberian Cranes’ in collaboration with two Russian schools, Lyceum 2 and School No. 31, to identify and analyze the causes that record the decline of these migratory birds to India. A cooperation and a partnership agreement was also signed with Lyceum 2. Principal Seema Jerath, while describing her unique experience in Russia said that, ‘The shock of differences gave way to the surprise of similarities’; and a spirit of acceptance and mutual understanding was the wonderful outcome. They received a lot of warmth and affection from Russian families, teachers and students.
